Questions about these reviews

How many London restaurants are reviewed here?

Eighty, spread across fifteen neighbourhood guides at five or six rooms each. The list on this page is ordered newest first; the neighbourhood pages order the same reviews by area if you already know where you will be.

What do the price labels mean?

Four bands rather than currency symbols: budget-friendly, mid-range, upmarket, and special occasion. A number appears only where there is a real one to quote — a set lunch, a tasting menu, a specific dish — because a symbol count tells you less than one accurate price does.

Why does every review follow the same shape?

So two rooms can be compared like for like. Each one covers the room, what to order, the drinks list, what you will pay, and a verdict, in that order — which means a £6 counter lunch and a £95 tasting menu are judged against the same questions rather than against each other.

What happens when a restaurant closes or changes hands?

The review is revisited rather than left to age. A materially changed kitchen, chef or menu triggers an update, and a closure is corrected — when Lyle’s shut for good in 2025 its entry gave way to the room now operating on the same site rather than staying up as a recommendation.
