Notting Hill

Notting Hill is still the best neighbourhood for a weekend lunch in W11.

An editorial note

Notting Hill has settled into being a weekend neighbourhood. Come for lunch on a Saturday, walk Portobello, have a drink, eat again. Nothing grand. Nothing requiring Mayfair.

What Notting Hill is good for

Brunch. Sunday roast. A walk through a market. A pastel-coloured terrace photograph if you must.

What Notting Hill is not good for

A Tuesday-night late dinner.

Worth a wander

Westbourne Grove
Dorian for dinner, Ottolenghi at the east end for breakfast. Walk west to Kensington Gardens.
Portobello Road
Saturday is a scrum; Tuesday is empty. The Ginger Pig on a Friday, always.
Ladbroke Grove
The pubs, the boutique hotels, the quiet early evenings.
